Your accommodations are simple but comfortable. There is no electricity at the ranch, the starting and ending point of your trip, but all rooms and log cabins have light (propane). Reiseverlauf
Day 1: You arrive on Sunday evening, enjoy a good welcome dinner and get to know the ranch, the operating family, the staff and the other guests. You will spend the night in a shared room or in a log cabin.
Day 2: On today´s introduction day you will get to know your horse and get information about the course of the week. Afterwards you will go for a ride in the beautiful countryside to get used to the horse and the way of riding. You will progress in all gaits. You should fully trust your horse before he goes on the Horse Drive! Overpowering again on the ranch.
Day 3: You pack your equipment into the covered wagon, load the horses and set off by car towards Deep Creek. From there you will drive the horses for more than 30 km through a desert-like area with many canyons. At the end of the day you arrive in Hot Springs. It is a great feeling to ride over a mountain ridge in the middle of a herd of horses and see the camp in front of you, your destination for today. As the name suggests, Hot Springs offers a relaxing bath in a hot spring. The day ends with a good dinner and you will sleep in a spacious tent or, if you wish, under the starry sky.
Day 4: The smell of fresh coffee and pastries will wake you up! After breakfast you can dive into the spring once more before the camp is broken up, the horses are caught and ridden on. Once again you will drive the horses about 30 km. In the evening the next camp awaits you in scenic surroundings.
Day 5: Today you will explore the beautiful surroundings of the camp. Only 6 km away there is a wonderful lake. With the abundance of wildlife there, it is not unlikely to see moose, Waipiti deer or even bears. The dinner, which is prepared over an open fire, ends this perfect day.
Day 6: After the day´s break, the horses are restless and eager to continue their journey. After breakfast, the camp is broken up, the horses are saddled and the journey continues to the final destination for the horses. A great day in the saddle awaits you and you drive the horses through incredibly beautiful landscapes. At the latest now you are completely familiar with your horse and your work - you are a cowboy/cowgirl! In the late afternoon you arrive at the ranch and enjoy a shower, tea and cookies as a reward for the strenuous ride. After a short rest, usually one of the horses is ed and worked with. You can also help with this if you wish. It is very interesting to see how the horse gets accustomed to the saddle and how it is transformed from an impetuous young horse into an indispensable helper of the ranch. Farewell dinner with a lot of stories about the experience. You will stay overnight in your log cabin or in your room at the ranch.
Day 7: You have covered more than 100 km in the saddle during the week. You will take home unforgettable memories of this trip! After breakfast it is time to say goodbye.
Subject to change due to unforeseeable incidents.
