The rest of the island can only be reached by a jeep, walking or riding. Islandic horses fit perfectly in their envoironment with their many paces. They can easily manage the rough terrain. The primal landscape mesmerises with its vulcans and bizzare contrasts of black lava stones, geysers rivers, stonedeserts, glaciers, swamps and valleys. One every tour you will discover new sides of this rough beauty and gemstone of the world. Riding in iceland: At all our Iceland Riding Tours there will be a wild herde of icelandic horses following the group. You will often switch horses because they are doing an enormeous job carring you. You will ride on 2-3 horses on that trails. It is an absolutly unforgettable experince! On stationäry programs with dayrides ("Iceland with Comfort") the group will have 4 near horses for changes. The tempo is slowly and nice. The tempo is ideal for beginners. Also the short ranged rides (6-7 days) are ideal for beginners. Most of our Icelandic horse riding holidays take place in the back country - where you will find lodgings can be quite basic – typically dorm room type buildings with outhouse facilities. Be prepared to share rooms and sleep in bunk beds or sleeping bags. Rustic accommodations are on our rides, but they also provide some of the most unique atmosphere and camaraderie. You can enjoy the polarlights with your group in the nights.
