Reiseverlauf
Adventure riding week (8 days/7 nights/5 ridingdays): Day one is always meant for your arrival only (between 2 and 6 pm) - take your time and throw a glimpse on the marvellous horses! Throughout your stay you will meet your group for the 5 riding days in front of the stables at around 9.00 am, where you are introduced to your horse for each day. You mount your horse inside the riding arena and off you go! The forest is very near and your guide knows it by heart. At lunchtime you take a break and visit different restaurant, where you can taste traditional Bavarian foods (excl.), while the horses are tied up and can also enjoy the break. You return to the farm between 3 and 4 pm. In the following you can find some options for day rides:
Option 1: You take a ride to the wild and romantic valley of the Kleine Ohe. On a mountain path you pass the pilgrimage chapel Rastbuche and reach a plateau. Stop for a break in a mountain inn. In good weather you can enjoy a cool drink in the beer garden. Strengthened, you return to the farm via forest and meadow paths.
Option 2: Your ride takes you deep into the Bavarian Forest through the mysterious landscape of the Dreiburgenland. You ride through ancient farming villages, along crystal clear streams and old water mills through untouched nature. For lunch break you stop at a small inn. In the afternoon you return to the farm.
Option 3: You ride to the gold mining village Hunding, situated on a sunny southern slope in the middle of extensive forests. Extensive lunch break in an original Gold Rush Western Saloon, an original replica of a trapper´s saloon from Canada: Enjoy the Bavarian specialities (cold buffet) at the richly set table - Western style in Bavaria!
Option 4: You ride to the foot of the Brotjacklriegel (1080 m), the highest elevation in the Sonnenwald area with an observation tower. Follow historic paths to the plateau surrounded by herb meadows. There you will enjoy a Bavarian snack in the Waldgasthof in Kerschbaum before returning to the farm.
Option 5: Ride into the valley of the 1000 beavers over long meadow paths in a rustic and beautiful landscape. At noon stop at a private estate with terrace and pool, where you can swim in good weather - do not forget your bathing clothes! In the afternoon you will return to the farm via the Gruselberg estate with cabadine horse breeding.
In the middle of the week there is one day without riding program where you can just relax or do some hiking or other activities. Day 8 is meant for your departure - not before breakfast for sure
Please keep in mind that changes might occure due to unforseeable conditions and that the order of the rides is variable.
Beginners week western riding holiday (8 days / 7 nights/5 riding days): The rides are like those of the adventure riding week only a little shorter and in walk only. Therefore this program also suits non riders. The Andalusian horses are very sure-footed, enduring and sociable. You will be amazed how quickly you will get a good and safe feeling on the back of these horses and enjoy this beautiful landscape!
Trial offer for advanced riders (4 days): You will take part in two extensive rides (each approx. 3-4 hours) into the beautiful area around the Brotjacklriegl and into the Bavarian Forest. Refreshments are available in small farming villages (excl.). On one evening there is usually a cosy barbecue with campfire romance at the farm.
Trial offer for beginners, re-starters and anxious riders (4 days): You take part in two relaxed rides around the beautiful area and into the forest. The horses are very sure-footed, enduring and lovely. You will be amazed how quickly you can get a good and safe feeling on the back of the horses and enjoy the beautiful landscape.
Weekend (3 days): You will take part in two extended rides (each approx. 4 hours) into the beautiful area around the Brotjacklriegl with a lunch break at an idyllic inn. The program ends on sunday at around 4 pm. Beginners will ride separated from advanced riders.
In winter there can be a lot of snow in the Bavarian Forest. Rides can therefore only be offered according to the amount of snow (riding not guaranteed)!
Non-riding companions also get their money´s worth in the Bavarian Forest! Many castles and palaces, the Bavarian Forest National Park and the three-river city of Passau await you. The mountain Brotjackeljackelriegel is a fantastic hiking area (in winter skiing and cross-country skiing is possible). In summer, bathing lakes in the immediate vicinity are very attractive. Likewise the traditional western city Pullmann City and its attractions.
Unterkunft
The farm offers newly renovated single/double rooms and apartments - all with shower/WC and TV (some with balcony, single rooms without TV). There is a cosy saloon on site, and there is also a natural swimming pond nearby for cooling off and swimming on hot summer days.
