Unser Tipp
Fantastic riding area with 350 ha of own land - experienced riders book for long rides best outside the high season from mid September to mid June.Beschreibung & Reiseverlauf
Gallop over wide stubble fields or ride through cypress-lined avenues, here you can experience Tuscany as it has been immortalised by countless painters. You will feel as if you have been transported directly to one of the numerous oil paintings. The stylish complex is picturesquely situated on a hill with a magnificent view over the wide grain fields and the idyllic river valley. You are guaranteed not to miss a thing here, from the pizza oven to the pool with a view, everything has been thought of. There is even a cafeteria with ice cream parlour. Here and in the in-house restaurant you can enjoy numerous homemade specialities. Several terraces and seating areas invite you to linger.
The riding centre is under Belgian management and offers you a choice of well ridden horses as well as ponies for the children. A huge riding ground offers the possibility for lessons. You can also enjoy wonderful rides in the beautiful surroundings.
Lovers of art and culture will also get their money´s worth here: medieval towns and villages such as Volterra or San Gimignano, the city of the towers, are only a stone´s throw away and Pisa and Florence are also delightful destinations.
Reiseverlauf
There are dressage lessons on the large riding ground as well as rides in the varied surroundings. From 2 persons, half and full day rides can also be arranged. Otherwise the rides usually last 2-3 hours. Wide meadow and farm tracks lead through the golden grain fields, green vineyards, olive groves, past idyllic lakes and along the river. You will also pass small woods and cypress alleys on horseback. In the surrounding villages, there are occasional stops where riders can quench their thirst in a bar, for example with an ice-cold Prosecco - Salute! For longer rides a saddlebag picnic is organised. The pace will be adapted to your riding experience.
Smaller children and beginners book the flexible riding package and receive lessons on the riding ground first. If it works out well, a first quiet ride will also take place. The riding instructor speaks English. For smaller children, German-speaking supervision is usually guaranteed during the summer (please enquire).
One riding unit includes 60 minutes of riding out, or 45 minutes of lessons for advanced riders (small groups) or 30 minutes of individual lessons for beginners.
Non-riders: There is also a lot on offer for non-riding companions: Mountain bike rental (for a fee), cooking classes, yoga on Thursday, hiking, wine tasting, olive oil tasting and harvesting, numerous excursions in the region or simply relaxing by the pool.
Unterkunft
In the main building there are 10 double rooms in typical Tuscan country house style with private bath, shower and WC. Each room also has a minibar/fridge and air conditioning. All guests also have access to a communal kitchen with cooker, fridge, microwave, etc. and a spacious sun terrace with a magnificent panorama. Towels and hair dryer are available.
For friends and families there are also several apartments, which are designed for two to 6 persons. Some of them are also located in the three neighbouring apartment complexes a few minutes´ drive away (approx. 8-13 minutes by car). These apartment buildings also offer a very nice view and each has its own pool. Who likes it more quiet, is in good hands here.
The catering: For room guests (main house) a rich breakfast buffet is included. From mid-March to the end of October, there is also a big dinner (buffet) three times a week for all guests, often with live music/DJ, a good opportunity to get to know the other guests and to dance (end of March to the end of October). You will be able to taste pizza from the wood-burning oven or delicious home-made pasta (Saturdays: welcome party, Tuesdays: pizza party, Thursdays: pasta party). The agriturismo produces almost everything itself, whether jam, honey, pickled vegetables, pasta, bread, meat, cheese, olive oil or wine. Pigs and cattle are kept and olives, wine and many kinds of fruit and vegetables are grown. The delicious organic products can be found in the farm shop as well as in the cafeteria and restaurant. Those who wish can improve their cooking skills with a cooking course. Buon appetito!
